Can you surf in Barcelona? You can, and we’ve been proving it since 2015. Our group surf lessons in Barcelona are the best way to see it for yourself: you share waves, laughs and progress with people of all ages while a certified instructor guides you wave by wave.

How do we find good conditions in the Mediterranean? By checking the swell forecast every day. There are surf classes scheduled every day: you book your spot here in under a minute and we let you know as soon as we confirm the waves (at the latest, the evening before at 18:00). If there are no waves anywhere on the coast, you choose: come to the surfskate and technique session, which is €20, and keep the rest as credit; or don’t come, and everything you paid stays as credit for another day.

Our base is in the heart of Barceloneta (Somorrostro Beach), so most days you take your surf lesson right on Barceloneta beach. But we don’t stay put: if the best wave of the day breaks on another beach along the coast, we go find it and let you know in advance 🚐. Why does it break here some days and in Sitges on others? How do the classes work?

There are surf classes scheduled every day. Open the booking calendar, pick the one that suits you and save your spot in under a minute, adding board, wetsuit or transport if you need them. We let you know as soon as we confirm the waves and, at the latest, the evening before at 18:00 we tell you the plan.

  • Waves at Barceloneta: surf.
  • Waves on another beach: we go and find them. We leave from the club by van (€5, limited seats, add it when you book) or you make your own way there.
  • No waves anywhere on the coast: you choose. Come to the surfskate and technique session, which is €20, and keep the rest as credit; or don’t come, and everything you paid stays as credit for another day.

The forecast is sometimes wrong, even from one day to the next. If it changes, the sea decides: if waves turn up, we surf; if they go, surfskate. We’ll tell you as soon as we know. If there are fewer than 3 of us, we merge that day’s groups. And if that’s still not enough, everything you paid stays as credit. We’ll tell you at least 2 hours before.

Duration and times

Each session includes 1 hour and 30 minutes of real surfing in the water, plus travel, preparation and warm-up time. The full experience can last up to 3 hours depending on the spot and the day’s logistics.

There are surf classes every day, in the morning and around midday. We let you know as soon as we confirm the waves and, at the latest, the evening before at 18:00 we tell you the plan.

What does each class include?

  • Surf board suited to the day’s waves (optional, +5€).
  • Wetsuit in your size and for the season (optional, +5€).
  • Accident and civil liability insurance.
  • Qualified instructor with international experience.
  • Lockers and a space to change at the club.
  • Free storage of personal belongings.

🚐 Important: remember to select transport (+5€) when booking if you need it. If you don’t and the class is outside Barceloneta, we can’t guarantee a seat in the vehicle.

Class levels

Beginner

For people who have never stood on a board or are taking their first steps. We work on the take-off, board position, paddling and safety. The goal: catch your first whitewater and leave wanting more.

Intermediate

You already pop up and want to surf left and right waves. We fine-tune your timing, your position on the peak and your paddling, and correct mistakes so you gain flow.

Advanced

You surf regularly and want that extra edge. The instructor films your session from the beach and gives personalised video feedback: cutbacks, snaps, floaters and whatever comes next.

How much is a group surf lesson?
The group surf lesson starts at 30€. You can add a board, wetsuit or transport for 5€ each.
How long does the lesson last?
1h30 of real surfing in the water. The full experience, with travel and preparation, can reach 3 hours.
Do I need previous experience?
No. Each class has an assigned level (Beginner, Intermediate or Advanced) visible before booking, and the instructor adapts the coaching. Being able to swim is essential though.

Recover at the spa

Some days, mostly in winter, after class the instructor takes the group into the Claror Marítim spa for 45 minutes, in our own building: warm pool with waterfalls, jacuzzi, cold pool, dry sauna, Mediterranean sauna, steam bath, sensation showers and ice fountain. It is 7€ per person and you go in as a group with the instructor, so it depends on them having time that day: it is not on the timetable, they tell you at the end of class. Monthly Surf Course students pay 5€.
